As of March 1st, the first online gambling company has decided to close their doors to players in Germany due to the new law that was came into effect on January 1st 2008. Getminted.com’s casino manager expressed in a press release today that the company regrets having to close all accounts registered to players from Germany. “All accounts will be suspended as of February 8th” said Stuart Miller. He did state that players will have access to their funds up and until March 1st whereby customer log-on exclusions will be put into place. This means that after the set date any player trying to access the room from Germany will be permanently locked out from the website.

The ban on online gaming has only been put into effect for a few short week, but is already receiving plenty of criticism due to the continue non compliance with principles set out by the European Commission.
