An employee for a high profile business communication company HIGHnet based out of Inervess London is under and intense investigations by police after reports of a possible gambling scam using company funds.
Chris Proudfoot was released from his duties with the company allegedly after he used the company’s funds to gamble online, apparently at William Hill, one of Europe’s top gambling sites.
The company has refused to comment on the investigation other than stating that the person in question is no longer employed by the company.
“That’s basically all we can say given there is a police investigation under way.” , said a HIGHnet spokeswomen to The Herald.
Police released that the investigation into the missing funds is still in its early stages nonetheless, the pending inquiry will take some time due to the amount of funds involved.
William Hill was also asked for a statement and although they cannot comment on the person’s account or what may or may not have happened, a spokeswoman said, “This is a case that could potentially come to court but at this moment is largely unsubstantiated, so we wouldn’t want to make any comment. We don’t comment on clients’ accounts anyway.”
