Funky Chicken

Saturday night is an ideal time for gambling online. My son is in bed and my computer is running so slow about all I can do is open up a casino for some spins at a new slot machine. So, while adaware is scanning my computer to see if spyware is the culprit, I decided to try my luck at Funky Chicken slots.

Funky Chicken is a rather new slot game, brought out by Vegas Technology. I hadn’t played at a Vegas Tech casino in a while, so I thought I’d give them a try. In general, I find the few VT casinos are some of the best run businesses – which makes up for the lack of flair in the casino games themselves.

Funky Chicken, like most VT slot games, was a little less than I’ve grown to expect from other software vendors, like Microgaming and RTG. It’s a fairly standard video slot – 5 reels, 25 lines with a jackpot of 5000X for 5 wilds on a single payline. And a scatter symbol which pay off when a chicken appears on 2 of the 5 reels. 3 or more scatters triggers the bonus round. I hit it in about 45 minutes, and it paid off with about $60 over the spins. The bonus is 15 free spins with a multiplier applied at the beginning – no fancy games, enhanced reels, or otherwise special screens. The game had only one sound for a winning hand (regardless if you won 20 cents or 20 dollars), except the scatter which had an annoying laughing sound. There was a more enjoyable sound byte in the bonus round. On the up side, the graphics were good and it was rare more than 2 or 3 spins passed without some winning combination, even if it didn’t win me the full spin value back. The $50 I made last night evaporated over about an hour, which isn’t too bad – you cant win every night!
