Tonight I tried something a little outside of the box with an RTG card game called “Pontoon.”  I’d never heard of the game before, so I was intrigued to find out how it was.  It turns out that Pontoon is a blackjack-esque game, with very similar rules, there are just a few alterations.  The main points are there are two hands that payout 2 to 1, those are Pontoon, and a Five Card Trick.   The Pontoon is a two-card 21, any hand of three or more adding up to 21 is not a Pontoon.  This is the highest ranked hand.  The Five Card Trick is achieved by having five cards totalling 21 or less, making it the second ranked hand.  Any other wins over the dealer payout even.  I played this game for a good 25 minutes, and I was having a ball, I really enjoyed the layout and gameplay.  The layout was a classic casino table style, it gave you the feel of an isolated table in a dark room, just you and the dealer, it’s a nice feel for the game.  The gameplay was very smooth, and the animation was very fluid, with very little distracting music or noises, just the right amount of effect.  I was very impressed with those two facets of the game.  However, since I don’t really know what I’m doing when it comes to a blackjack game, especially knowing when to bet and when to just stay, I was bleeding chips.  The max bet was $250, so why not bet the max, well, $8000 later I finished up.  For someone that knows a little more about what their doing, this game would be a nice spinoff of a classic casino game.
