Golden Retriever
So tonight during halftime, since I hate the halftime shows, I hopped on and tried a slots game called “Golden Retriever.” I have a dog, so I thought it would be fun. It was just as cheezy as I expected. The icons ranged from the standard 9-A, along with diamond bones, jeweled collars, and dog bowls. The music was absent, and the effects and sounds were pretty standard for this particular RTG casino. The game is a 5 line x 20 reel slot, with bets ranging from $0.01 – $5.00, so naturally I went with the max bet. I started out on a pretty steady fall, loosing about $2K pretty quickly. There was a bonus feature, which I triggered once, and it was this game’s only saving grace. Three diamond bones, preceded by a pretty generic suspense effect, anywhere on the field will trigger 10 free spins, which are then multiplied by a factor dug up at the end by the retreiver. The multiplier can be 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, or 20x….I hit the 3x. My total winnings off the bonus round was around $4200, which after a few more minutes of play, ended my night roughly $1500 in the black. Overall, the game was enjoyable, and it was cute, but it didn’t seem to pay well, and the wins were pretty few and far between, with very few quality wins. I wouldn’t go back to play this game, but if your a real dog lover, then you could do to burn a couple minutes hoping for the free game feature.
