Learn the Game

If you are a beginning gambler and head to Vegas it is always a good idea to play at lower stakes games if you are not really sure how to play. It is also a good idea to sit down at a table that does not have many people. Generally, dealers are more than happy to help you learn the game and what to do and not to do. I learned this first hand, as I made the mistake of sitting down at a full table when I really had no idea what basic Blackjack strategy is. I made quite a few mistakes and did not make many friends at the table, as I would either not hit when I should or hit when I should have and I messed up other people’s hand. Now you do not have to follow basic Blackjack strategy all the time, but if you made dumb actions and it hurts players at the table the game will not be as enjoyable.

Craps and Blackjack are the games that you should really know how to play before you sit down. At off peak times it is never hard to find empty tables, which make it possible for you to learn the game from the dealers themselves. They can also give you little inside tips on the games. I did this after learning my lesson at the Blackjack and I learned how to play Craps in that way. When there were players at the table when I came back I knew the game, for the most part, and the game was more fun to play. I even won $50 on my first Craps session.

Learning the games is especially important if you have a little dough and want to play at a higher stakes table. Tables with higher stakes limits generally have players that are a little more serious about gambling and therefore will be more miffed when you make a bad play that can have an effect on their hand or play.

Take advantage of what casinos offers, which is to have their dealers teach you the game. The casinos want you to come back and gamble at their casino so they will teach you how to play. Many hotel casinos will also have tutorials available on TV channels in the hotel. Gambling is not a popularity contest at the tables, but if know how to play the games when you sit down you will not piss off people by making the wrong move.
