Competitors in California Join Together For Legalized Internet Gambling In

The Morongo Band of Mission Indians has come together to join to the long list of legalized Internet gambling supporters in the state of California. The tribe joining up with other card rooms in California to try to push for changes in the state law in terms of online gambling. Even though the tribe is joining with their rivals for a common goal it is not the first time it has happened.

Recently 2 big casino resorts in the state of Connecticut have joined up to put up billboards to try to garner business from the mainly Atlantic City casino patrons. The billboards to try to get people to come to their state casino resorts can be seen all across the New Jersey Turnpike.

Both the poker card rooms and the Moronogo Indian tribe in the state of California are not thrilled to say the least that online gambling operators that are offshore are taking potential customers away from them. Both of these groups would like the laws changed so they can drive out the illegal Internet gambling that is going on right now.

Morongo Spokesman Patrick Dorinson recently stated in an interview with the Desert Sun that, “It’s a way to head off competition. This would be a game for Californians run by Californians. In a state strapped for cash, this will definitely bring in revenue.”

The plan to legalize Internet gambling in California is not supported in the state. There are some that believe that the plan to legalize the industry in the state has not been examined enough so that it would eventually become a law. Many people think that time is needed for the lawmakers in the state to try to come up with the best way to go about legalizing online gambling.

However, California is a state that is one of the leaders in American in terms of gambling and gambling laws. There are many casinos in the state and it brings in millions of dollars of revenues for the state government. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has continued to sign agreements with tribes in the state for even more casinos.
