| March 26, 2007 - Funding Gambling Accounts |

|
It is getting increasingly difficult to fund gambling accounts. We have the outgoing
US congress and a right wing religious conservative president who thinks his friends are the most qualified to hold
public office. The American people did their job
electing smarter people to congress in 2006 and hopefully will follow suit with the presidency in 2008.
After Congress passed UIGEA as an attachment to the Port Security bill things were set in motion. Alberto Gonzalez, chief at the justice department (and in a lot of trouble over US Attourney firings), continued his crusade against the online gambling industry... He arrested two former Neteller executives. Legal proceedings are still pending - the two gentlemen haven't even been indicted yet. But with this development, most every E-wallets closed shop to US customers. A few remain, but I wouldn't recommmend any of them at this moment. There are options, credit cards, bank wires, electronic checks, etc... but they have high decline rates as well. Hopefully, as courts have the opportunity to rule on gambling, what is plainly obvious should prevail. There are no laws preventing American Citizens from gambling offshore and non-Americans are allowed to run their own businesses without constant fear of prosecution. We need the courts to strike down the DOJ assertion that gambling is illegal. Additionally, the international community may become involved, especially with the Antigua WTO case, whose final ruling is due any day now. It is my hope by the end of the year, these matters are clarified and everyone is granted the right to do as they please with their lives! |
